The Boot List: Survivor Ghost Island Week 5
Who’s looking hot? Who’s not? And who seems to have what it takes to sip an ice cold mimosa on Day 39? It’s time to examine some Ghost Island resumes!

Survivor day has rolled around once again, and at TTHS we can’t wait for another slice of Ghost Island pie! Every Wednesday I’ll be updating the resumes of the remaining castaways, and ranking the players in order from most deserving of my hypothetical jury vote, to most likely to be sent to Ponderosa as the next boot. As the season progresses we’ll be able to track the players who have been building a strong case to win from Day One, and sort them from those who have clearly just been coasting along as disposable pawns.
The race is still wide open, although a line can probably now be drawn through the players who have yet to grab the attention of the all knowing editors. A quarter of the game is a long time to go without adding any significant attributes to a Survivor resume! I hope you enjoy tonight’s episode – I’ll be back on Friday to present my detailed recap and analysis. Happy Survivoring until then!
The BOOT LIST: Week 5
*Updated resume skills are highlighted in purple*
Laurel 1
Last Week: 3rd
Primary Allies: Donathan +/- Dom & Wendell +/- James & Libby.
Resume: Enters the swap with multiple options; manoeuvring herself into the swing vote position, befriending the bottom feeders, learning about Domenick’s idol; challenge strength.
Comment: I have a feeling that Laurel is going to be a bit of a slow burn this season. The composition of the swap will dictate her next move but she seems to be well positioned for whatever scenario evenutates. Knowing about Domenick’s idol is huge.
Michael 2
Last Week: 1st
Primary Allies: Jenna +/- Sea Bass. Looking for new friends.
Resume: Successfully entered self preservation mode when devoid of other options to outlast Stephanie; well spoken, strategically creative, willing to gamble on the odds, attempted double idol bluff/Bradley coup; found James’ cursed idol; challenge strength, secretly being 18 years old.
Comment: Despite revealing his strong strategic nous at the previous tribal, Michael was still able to convince the Purple Five to keep him in the game for his challenge strength last week. The swap couldn’t have come at a better time! Major player.
James 3
Last Week: 2nd
Primary Allies: Libby +/- Donathan & Laurel +/- Chris & Angela.
Resume: Orchestrated the Morgan blindside, strategically gifted; kind, loyal, committed to the tribe.
Negatives: Struggling in challenges despite his athleticism.
Comment: James has had two quiet weeks in a row but he’s done enough to remain in winning calculations for now.
Sebastian 4
Last Week: 7th
Primary Allies: Chelsea, Kellyn, Desiree, Bradley; option to flip to Jenna, Michael & OG Malolo + Chris if reunited.
Resume: Forming a relationship with the outsiders (mainly Jenna), no enemies entering the swap – options a plenty; wanted as an ally by the original Malolos; the provider and ultimate bro.
Comment: Sea Bass jumps up a few spots this week for making a connection with the minority alliance – in the case of an outnumbered swap he would now be the last of the Purple Five to be targeted by Michael or Jenna. Clever insurance strategy.
Donathan 5
Last Week: 5th
Primary Allies: Laurel + Dom & Wendell or James & Libby + Chris & Angela.
Resume: Untested connections to every player on Naviti 2.0; shielded behind Laurel as the secondary swing vote; compelling character, one of the main narrators, strategically underestimated, deflected the first vote onto Gonzalez.
Comment: Donathan enters the swap with untarnished connections to every player on his tribe – he would need to be dealt a disastrous hand to find himself in danger this week.
Libby 6
Last Week: 4th
Primary Allies: James +/- Laurel & Donathan +/- Chris & Angela or Domenick & Wendell.
Resume: Enacted the Morgan blindside as the swing vote; involved in almost every single conversation as an active listener, potential to work with anyone.
Comment: I worry that Libby is starting to drift into Survivor irrelevance but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt for one more week.
Kellyn 7
Last Week: 9th
Primary Allies: Purple power.
Resume: Co-leader of the Purple Five; forfeited her shot at a personal advantage to maintain a clear majority at tribal council, conveniently shielded behind Bradley; a key narrator; scored the first confessional of the season.
Comment: Kellyn is writing her own narrative this season (e.g. foreshadowing the “epic” Malolo wipeout in addition to her exile to Ghost Island), which makes her a primary character and therefore one of the top hopes. Although her strategy has been dull to this point, it has been effective and makes sense for her position in the game. The swap will be interesting.
Jenna 8
Last Week: 6th
Primary Allies: Michael, Sea Bass. Looking for new friends.
Resume: Flirting with Sea Bass to save herself over Stephanie; fighting from the bottom; using Brendan, Michael and Stephanie as alpha shields.
Comment: Sometimes you just have to find a way to survive the next vote – so Jenna’s move to get cosy with Sea Bass should not be underestimated. A smokey chance.
Domenick 9
Last Week: 11th
Primary Allies: Wendell +/- Laurel & Donathan.
Resume: Developing self awareness/toning back his brashness, leveraging his idol with Laurel; gifted Morgan’s cursed legacy advantage; found Andrea’s hidden immunity idol in the dark, revealed semi-fake one to Chris (and now almost everyone else).
Negatives: Terrible jump from the gates – set himself up to be an early target.
Comment: With an idol and a legacy advantage in his pocket, Domenick should be set up for a shot at the end game. However, until he returns to tribal we won’t know how well he is actually reading the game. Chance.
Wendell 10
Last Week: 12th
Primary Allies: Domenick +/- Laurel & Donathan.
Resume: Challenge strength, strong social game, great shelter building skills, strategically open, compelling secret ex-lawyer-turned-dreamchaser backstory.
Comment: Wendell hasn’t really had a chance to play yet but he’s featured enough in the early stages to enter calculations post merge if his cards align nicely.
Desiree 11
Last Week: 13th
Primary Allies: Purple power.
Resume: Bag searcher; steered the decisions to vote out Brendan and Stephanie; engaging homeless backstory.
Comment: Desiree is slowly creeping into the main storylines and has enough ammo to justify her comfortable position in the Purple Five to a jury – so she’s not out of it yet, but the next episode will be vital to her chances.
Chelsea 12
Last Week: 10th
Primary Allies: Sea Bass, Kellyn, Desiree & Bradley.
Resume: Safely nestled within the Purple Five for the entire first quarter.
Comment: We still know nothing about Chelsea which means she’s only playing a supporting role in this season. Comfortability is a curse in Survivor.
Angela 13
Last Week: 14th
Primary Allies: Chris
Resume: A blank canvas.
Negatives: Not involved in any moves to date.
Comment: Unlikely to go home in the near future but zero chance of winning.
Chris 14
Last Week: 15th
Primary Allies: Sebastian on the other tribe +/- ex-Malolos +/- Angela.
Resume: Continues to bond with the Malolos – leveraging similar personal backstory to connect with Donathan, challenge domination, spoken word/rapping skills; planted the seed for Malolo to take a strike against Domenick, Mum’s MS backstory, ability to draw inner strength from adversity; made the captain’s call to forfeit the first challenge in order to save the fishing gear, is in a power bro couple with Sebastian, and is rightfully suspicious of Domenick’s (fake) idol.
Negatives: Will continue to be a target as long as Domenick remains in the game.
Comment: If Chris can find a way to defeat Domenick, he’ll immediately enter winning calculations – but he has to stay at the bottom until then.
Bradley 15
Last Week: 16th
Primary Allies: Purple power.
Resume: Villainous ‘leader’ of ex-Naviti crew.
Negatives: Alienates his opponents; annoying complainer, arrogant.
Comment: I hope Bradley has enjoyed his first quarter of control because his purple bubble is about to be obliterated by the next swap. Boot city!
